Event Details
The Overseas Security Advisory Council- Manila Country Chapter (OSAC) and the Security and Disaster Resources Group (SDRG) committee, one of the 20 committees of the Chamber spearheads information sharing sessions, meetings, and events related to its priorities. OSAC is a public-private partnership of the United States Embassy โ Manila Regional Security Office (RSO) and the business community country-wide. It provides a bilateral communication channel of mutual benefit. OSAC frequently holds joint meetings with AmCham's SDRG so that relevant and interested businesses may improve their processes and practices, and reduce losses of lives, property, and profits. In addition to more formal exchanges of information in briefing/lecture formats, a benefit to OSAC/SDRG is the building of professional networks and exchange mechanisms outside of the formal meeting format.
This meeting is intended to ensure that the RSO and business community reestablish their close personal ties after a more than two-year stoppage of face-to-face meetings due to Covid pandemic restrictions by the Philippine government. OSAC Manila and SDRG conducted a vibrant and active series of meetings via AmCham's ZOOM channel, but no in-person meetings were held during the restrictions. This meeting will initiate a return to in-person meetings.
Objectives:
- Permit OSAC/SDRG members to introduce themselves to, and get to know, the RSO staff and purposes;
- Exchange information on regional and Philippine-specific threats and security-related information;
- Set a framework for programs for the coming year, including a possible meeting with U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson
