Summary:
In these trying times, we have observed more and realized more. Not that there was a need for a global crisis to happen before we are awakened, it is more of a learning experience for each and every one of us. One of the many controversial issues is mental health. If not all, most of us are working from home during this time, and sometimes we do not recognize our mental needs. Due to the heavy workload that we have, we somehow neglect our own mental health, that sometimes we do not get proper rest. We think that accomplishing everything at once is great without having pauses in between, when in fact, this can actually impair us from performing and lead to a more serious problem.
There are many factors that contribute to achieving a mental health friendly environment in the workplace. These facets include: work-related risk factors for health, creating a health workplace, supporting people with mental disorders at work, and many more. Physical health is as important as mental health, in other words, we are dealing with the internal and external well-being of individuals. We should know how to properly take care of our welfare by taking into account not just the physical aspect but the mental angle as well. We must be aware of how to manage our mental health especially in the workplace given that we spend eight hours of everyday in that specific environment.
