The issue of chronic rice supply shortage has been a major socio-economic problem that pushes this vital food staple to become inaccessible or too expensive for ordinary Filipinos. In light of this, the Agribusiness and Financial Services, Taxes and Tariffs (FSTT) Committees of The American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines will be conducting the event "Riceing Philippines!: The Upcoming Amendments Surrounding The Rice Tariffication Law" discussing the different contours that surrounds the current issues within the rice industry, and subsequently the whole agricultural sector of the country, and how various stakeholders can contribute in revitalizing such important industry for uplifting business opportunities among agri-entrepreneurs and promoting social and economic welfare for all Filipinos.
