Event Details

The Philippines has a longstanding ugly reputation as a place of rampant kidnaps, bombings, and terrorism. Not so much these days, but internationally, the stain remains. Tourism related companies ought to know current facts, and not rely on outdated feelings and recollections.

This seminar aims to provide participants with a visualized report on the recent security landscape in the Philippines using Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and data analytics.

We will explore the evolving dynamics of key high-profile threats in the Philippines over recent years, including:

  • Terrorism
  • Insurgency
  • Kidnap for Ransom
  • Transnational Crime Groups
  • Scams, Smuggling, etc.

Additionally, we will highlight the use of OSINT and data analytics to better understand and manage these risks, encouraging the use of these tools as potential upskill for risk and security managers.
