Pericles Casuela primarily handles issues relating to various aspects of intellectual property law, including trademark and patent prosecution before the Philippine Intellectual Property Office, the drafting and negotiation of technology transfer agreements including franchise agreements and trademark licensing agreements, managing the intellectual property aspects of mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions.

Pericles has advised and acted on behalf of several mulitnational companies in handling data security incidents in the Philippines and abroad. He also advises on regulatory issues affecting information technology and telecommunications projects such as those relating to e-commerce, the licensing of telecommunications and value added services, satellite communications and managed network services. He also advises on intellectual property and regulatory issues in the delivery of multimedia content through enhanced telecommunications services, information technology outsourcing and turnkey contracts.

He represents clients in the consumer products, transportation, electronics, liquor, telecommunications, e-commerce, entertainment, financial services, and other industries. He previously headed the Intellectual Property and Information Technology Practice Group of Quisumbing Torres, a member firm of Baker & McKenzie International.

Kevin McCaffrey is the Managing Director of Blackpanda Philippines, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He previously served in the United States Special Forces, specializing in both Asian and Middle Eastern theaters of combat. Kevin is a founding member of Blackpanda and led the team responsible for the development of Blackpanda’s proprietary risk assessment and analysis methodology. He and his team have conducted a number of high-profile projects across Southeast Asia in both risk prevention and crisis response scenarios. In addition to his special operations experience, Kevin is a practiced graduate of a number of highly specialized intelligence, reconnaissance, and military risk programs, specializing in the integration of human, cyber, and physical threat mitigation. Kevin is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and full-time resident of the Philippines.
