Atty. Monalisa Dimalanta

Chairperson

Atty. Monalisa Dimalanta is presently the Chair of the Philippine National Renewable Energy Board (NREB) since her appointment by the President on 28 March 2019. She is also a partner in PJS Law and, until her assumption of office as NREB Chair, led the Energy Group of the Firm. She now supports the M&A team in the Firm, trains junior lawyers in practice and leads the Firm’s programs on innovation in legal services.

Monalisa is recognized as “Market Leader” in the areas of Project Development and Energy and a leading practitioner in the Asia-Pacific and has won several awards for the Firm including the coveted “Philippine Deal of the Year” and “M&A Deal of the Year” awards given by Asian Legal Business– Philippine Law Award in 2017. Monalisa has been continuously cited as “Leading Lawyer” in several financial and legal publications in the Asia-Pacific.

Monalisa obtained her Master of Laws (Ll.M.) degree in 2001 from the University of Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Laws (Ll.B.) degree from the University of the Philippines in 1997 and Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) from the same University in 1993 where she graduated cum laude. Monalisa is a professor at the Ateneo de Manila Law School.
