AmCham Philippines

AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

This is a commitment of long-standing, as its mission statement declares:

The Chamber exists to serve the interests of U.S. businesses through the participation of members in promoting their long-term objectives while contributing to the civic and economic development of the Philippines.”

Event Details

Join AmCham's Security and Disaster Resource Group, together with the Overseas Security Advisory Council, in the webinar on September 16, 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM (PST) entitled 22 Trends Shaping Security and What To Do with Them.

The webinar will discuss pre- and post-pandemic global security trends that will accelerate or decelerate over the next five years. The speaker will discuss what it all means for different stakeholders, some suggestions on how to respond, and ideas on how to use the trends to tell a better story to senior management and clients to make a better business case for the importance of this new type of security.

Examples of what will be covered as the speaker unveils twenty-two trends he has identified and tracked:

  • Security has gone mainstream as a feature of a larger value proposition. Its impacts on our old truths of high security are being challenged. What are they, and how to respond?
  • Megatech's influence both in business practices as well as standards like CHiP, LORA, and 5G, impacting the way our systems work
  • In the past six months, the impact of new access control companies raising $300+M in capital to exercise in the global market. We have never seen this before.
  • The introduction of the end-user as a stakeholder. We've never had to deal with the end-user as they were a card to us. Mobile and the increased adoption of new technology such as health attestation will now influence what systems go in, stay, and how they function. We are all set up for the admin and the dealerโ€ฆwhat do we do with the end-user?
  • Our industry has forever been about keeping bad people out. It is now about letting the right person in. We are applying 30-year-old products and processes to today and tomorrow use cases.
