Vaccine Literacy: Building Public Support for a COVID-19 vaccine via Business Sector

AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

Event Details

As some Filipinos are starting to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, many are also beginning to ask more questions about immunization. However, inevitably, these questions are muddled by an overwhelming array of data, misconceptions and even false information about the COVID-19 vaccine.

With this, AmCham's Pharmaceutical committee will host a discussion with CONVINCE (COVID New Vaccine Information, Communication, and Engagement), where the speakers aim to promote vaccine literacy through sharing their expertise and giving clarity on information related to COVID-19. Furthermore, they will respond to real questions and concerns from the audience to help alleviate fear and stop the fake news surrounding COVID-19 and immunization.

CONVINCE is a global, multi-sector coalition of diverse partners and networks who have come together to:

Provide clear, scientific — yet accessible — information to individuals and communities across the world
Build vaccine confidence globally by listening to and responding to local concerns
Increase vaccine demand and help coordinate vaccine delivery to the last mile In the Philippines, we are a team of volunteers working with CONVINCE to address the problem of fake news and incorrect information surrounding COVID-19 and the COVID-19 vaccines.
