Training Overview
Despite recent market volatility in crypto markets, Web3 is a new paradigm shift that has the potential to fundamentally disrupt virtually all industries (not just financial services) and business functions, including finance, sales, marketing, procurement, supply chain, and human resources, technology, and others. Web3 is the third major technology-enabled wave since the commercialization of the Internet in the late 1990s, with the potential to significantly impact markets, consumer behavior, how business is conducted, and how value is created. Unlike the current Web2 era that has given rise to highly centralized, powerful Web2 companies such as Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Apple, the Web3 era promises to usher in a new paradigm in which users own distributed networks enabled by crypto tokens and other digital assets.
In this free one-hour introduction session, AmCham Philippines business executives will gain a high-level, cursory understanding of Web3-related technologies and concepts such as blockchain, smart contracts, cryptocurrencies, crypto wallets, non-fungible tokens (NFT), and more. The session will also touch on global regulatory trends, including in the Philippines, that may shape the depth and pace of change within the next three years.
The main objectives of this session include:
- Gain a basic understanding of core Web 3 technologies and concepts, including blockchain, cryptocurrency, NFTs and the Web 3 "technology stack"
- Explore how Web 3 trends will impact traditional businesses in the coming years
- Understand the agenda and benefits of three for-fee 2-hour sessions especially designed for AmCham Philippines members
Following this free introductory session, we will offer three in-depth 2-hour sessions tailored for AmCham Philippines members covering Web 3 and crypto foundations; global use cases, value propositions, and deep dives; and Web 3 implications and investment opportunities. The three sessions will be held on August 5th, 10th, and 12th from 9 to 11 AM.
