Training Overview

The Human Resources Department is every company's internal support system. With that, building a culture of support in the workplace should be at the top of every HR Manager's list of priorities. This course seeks to equip HR professionals on common workplace mental health issues, causes of employees' distress, and rapport-building techniques to help them provide support to their employees. Taught by Licensed Psychologist & Board-Certified Specialist in Counseling Psychology, Ms. Alessandra Arpon, this class will use the RAPIDS model to help participants create an effective support system framework for their companies.


Training Objectives

At the end of the training, participants should be able to:

  • Differentiate the different crisis reactions and know how to act on such
  • Demonstrate the skills for rapport building and supportive communication
  • Conducting the RAPIDS model (Reflective listening, Assessment of needs, Prioritization, Intervention, Disposition, and Self-Care)

    Aless Arpon is working in education, research, assessment, and mental health awareness, treatment, and care. She earned her BS Psychology from Far Eastern University - Manila with a Magna Cum Laude distinction and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from De La Salle University – Manila where she is also taking her Ph. D. in Counseling Psychology. She is a licensed psychologist who garnered the 5th place during the licensure examination for psychologist in 2017.

    Aless uses play and expressive arts therapy for children, trains teens with social thinking and interpersonal effectiveness skills, and conducts evidence-based psychotherapy for adults. She has experience handling concerns related to family conflicts, intimate relationships, sexual identity, academic and occupational problems, self-harming behavior, and emotion dysregulation. Aside from therapy, she also runs lectures, seminars, and workshops related to mental health awareness, prevention, and intervention in the community, school, and work settings. At present, she works as a faculty member of the psychology department in the De La Salle University – Manila handling undergraduate and graduate courses.
