AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the next meeting for the Overseas Security Advisory Committee, Manila Country Council, in joint session with the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Security and Disaster Resources Group (OSAC/SDRG) on Thursday, 20th of February 2020. It is scheduled from ‎2:00pm to 4:00pm at the American Chamber of Commerce Meeting Hall, Corinthian Plaza, Paseo de Roxas corner Legaspi Street, Legaspi Village, Makati City. There is no charge for this meeting.

The February meeting is entitled "Active and Passive Cyber Defenses in a Hostile Environment". Matt joined [redacted] with a breadth of experience within the private and public sector. After 17 years as a commissioned United States Air Force officer and a Defence Department Senior Executive, he transitioned to the private sector holding positions as Chief Technical Officer for a venture backed cyber security firm, Senior Technical Director for Symantec Corporation's Global Security Operations, and most recently as an Executive-in-Residence with Littoral Ventures a private equity investment firm. Matt has served in many roles during his career implementing network security architecture for large food manufacturing firms (Coca Cola, Frito Lay, and Coors Brewing Company), Chief of Intelligence of the 18th Fighter Squadron (USAF), Senior Intelligence Officer to Gen. James R. Clapper, Lead U.S. Government Forensics Analyst in Baghdad, Iraq, and several technical leadership roles at the National Security Agency (NSA). In addition to holding several commercial information security certifications, he has earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the California State Polytechnic University, a Master of Science degree and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Maryland. In 2010, Matt was awarded the Presidential Meritorious Senior Career Employee.
