AmCham Philippines

AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

This is a commitment of long-standing, as its mission statement declares:

The Chamber exists to serve the interests of U.S. businesses through the participation of members in promoting their long-term objectives while contributing to the civic and economic development of the Philippines.”

Public transportation is considered as the backbone of major cities, as it provides a critical daily service to thousands of people. In Metro Manila alone, majority of people rely solely on buses, railways, and jeepneys to get to work and come home. However, the transport sector continues to combat new challenges during this global health and economic crisis.

Join us on October 21, 2020 for our 7th Virtual General Membership Meeting entitled, "Driving Resiliency and Sustainability on Transportation: Recent Developments on the Philippine Transportation System". We are very honored to have Department of Transportation Secretary Hon. Arthur Tugade discuss the DOTr's contribution to fighting the challenges that COVID-19 brought and the transport sector's response to future obstacles. He will also share what's being done to keep public transport services running, especially the integrated action plans/guidelines that will ensure passenger's safety.
