AmCham North Luzon Chapter

AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

This is a commitment of long-standing, as its mission statement declares:

The Chamber exists to serve the interests of U.S. businesses through the participation of members in promoting their long-term objectives while contributing to the civic and economic development of the Philippines.”

Event Details

Clark has been growing in leaps and bounds. With the execution of plans revolving around key investment priorities – anchor tourism destinations, light industrial parks, high-value manufacturing, high-value agriculture, and smart city technologies, Clark is definitely emerging as a modern city in Central Luzon.

The only Freeport in the country to boast an international airport and together with the government's Build, Build, Build national infrastructure program, Clark is poised to become an economic hub.

The American Chamber of Commerce Philippines - North Luzon Chapter will be holding its General Membership meeting with the topic Updates and Expectations under New Leadership with guest speaker PBGen. Manuel R. Gaerlain (Ret.).

President and CEO of Clark Development Corporation

Manuel R. Gaerlan was inducted as the President and CEO of Clark Development Corporation on the 14th of January in 2021, after having served as a member of the Board of Directors for almost two years. This comes as a continuation of a life lived in constant accomplishment, beginning with his graduation from the Philippine Military Academy in 1985 as Class Valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude. To this day, he still holds the record for the highest GPA of any PMA graduate.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Manuel L. Quezon University and a Master in Management (with Distinction) from the Asian Institute of Management.

He sits as the Chairman of the Board in two private enterprises - Prime Lift & Load Industries, Inc. and Prime Build & Development, Inc. He dedicated 32 years of his life in the service of the AFP-PNP where he celebrated many of his most fulfilling professional achievements.

He served as the Regional Director of Central Visayas (Police Regional Office 7, Cebu City) and Davao Region (Police Regional Office 11, Davao City).

He retired with the rank of Police Brigadier General in 2018, but still serves the Republic of the Philippines fervently, honorably, and with excellence.
