AmCham Visayas

AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

This is a commitment of long-standing, as its mission statement declares:

The Chamber exists to serve the interests of U.S. businesses through the participation of members in promoting their long-term objectives while contributing to the civic and economic development of the Philippines.”

Event Details

The Municipality of Cordova in Mactan, Cebu envisions itself to be a competitive and sustainable eco-tourism gateway in the Visayas, industrially and commercially attuned through pro-active and responsive governance constituted by an empowered, culturally-rich, and God-centered citizenry.

With the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway nearing completion, what initiatives are being undertaken to invite both local and foreign investors to this humble municipality and increase the economic activity in the district?

Join us in a General Membership Meeting on March 25, 2021 (Thursday) at Bai Hotel Cebu starting at 6:00 PM. Let's listen to Mayor Mary Therese Sitoy-Cho as she showcases Cordova as an investment destination in the Visayas.

This event is free for members (limited to 1 seat only). Additional members/guests/non-members will be assessed accordingly for the meal. All attending in-person must be registered in advance as seating is limited. You may also join us via Zoom, and the details will be emailed with the registration confirmation.

Mary Therese P. Sitoy-Cho

Mayor at Municipality of Cordova, Cebu

Mary Therese Sitoy-Cho is the first woman mayor of Cordova. Mayor Teche, as she is fondly called, graduated with a degree in Accountancy from the University of San Carlos. She has a Masters in Development Management and Governance, and has acquired an Executive Doctorate in Leadership from the University of Makati. Her first entry in the local government unit was back in 2010 as Investment and Tourism Officer. At the prodding of her father, Presidential Adviser on Legislative Affairs Adelino Sitoy, she ran for Vice Mayor in 2013 and won. She then ran for the office of Mayor in 2016, won, and is currently on her second term.

Mayor Teche is married to Bong Hwan Cho, Republic of Korea Presidential Advisor and Chairman of Korean Association of the Philippines Cebu Chapter.
