Under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, "Copyright" is the legal protection extended to the owner of the rights in an original work. At the forefront of copyright protection and enforcement is the Bureau of Copyright and Related Rights of the Intellectual Property Office.
The Bureau is now headed by Director Emerson Cuyo, who will discuss in detail the functions of the office, the issues that copyright holders face at present, and how the bureau can assist in protecting and enforcing the economic and moral rights of copyright owners.
