The Sustainability Committee of AmCham will be hosting a webinar focusing on solid waste management with our guest speaker, Ms. Jill Boughton.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented changes globally. We are quite aware of the bad changes and the crisis it brought upon us, but arguably, one of the good changes, is how it slashed air pollution across nations. With fewer people in the streets and travelling, various photos of clear and clean skies surfaced online. We have seen fewer litters on the street as fewer people move around.
To prevent us from the disease, the purchase of face masks, alcohols, sanitizers, and Personal Protective Equipment have increased. This poses, however, a huge challenge for its proper disposal and ensuring protection of our environment, economic, and social values.
Jill Boughton is a founder of Waste2Worth and has successfully revolutionized the use of solid waste as a resource.
