A multi-awarded top executive with a keen eye for developing sustainable business value and realizing growth opportunities, Mary Jane Alvero Al-Mahdi shows exemplary cross-unit expertise in the areas of corporate governance, budget management, global market identification and workforce management.
As the Group CEO of Prime Group, a leading quality and compliance solutions provider in Asia, Middle East and Africa, Mary Jane has been responsible for all facets of the business, as well as the successful direction and operations of the Group’s various business entities since 1997. She has a proven executive management track record of almost 30 years, having grown the UAE-based team from 11 employees to a now over 530-strong workforce composed of experts and specialists in the fields of testing, certification, inspection, training, and research.
With a wide entrepreneurial perspective, Mary Jane was able to expand the Group’s foothold not just across the UAE but also in Japan, India and the Philippines with 6 international offices and facilities, allowing the company to operate locally as well as globally. Under her leadership, Prime Group has empowered over 10,000 organizations to achieve competitive advantage as well as a superior performance by boosting operating efficiency, reducing costs, increasing revenue, enhancing safety standards and minimizing exposure to risk throughout their value chain.
Prior to joining Prime Group, she held both key leadership and technical positions at Al Futtaim Tarmac Laboratories Division, where she introduced transformative solutions to enhance business operations and increase productivity.
Mary Jane received various recognitions and accolades, the latest of which are Circle of Excellence Awardee – Asia CEO Awards 2020, Excellent Abstract & Manuscript – Impact of Halal Assurance Management System on Halal Products & Best Presenter – Development Management Category (2019) from her dissertation. Other recognition include the Woman of the Year Award by Emirates Woman (2013), 100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the World Award (2017), Global Achiever Award (2017), 100 Global Sustainable Leaders Award (2016), Global Awards for Excellence in Quality Management and Leadership (2016), Life Achievement Award for Excellence and Leadership in Water (2016), CEO of the Year by the World Water Leadership & Awards (2016), Women Leadership Achievement Award (2016), and Young Asian Achiever Award in UAE (2011), amongst many others.
She earned a BS Degree in Chemical Engineering at Adamson University, a Master of Business Administration from Philippine Christian University - Middle East Graduate Programme, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Management at Philippine Christian University Graduate Studies.
