AmCham Philippines

AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

This is a commitment of long-standing, as its mission statement declares:

The Chamber exists to serve the interests of U.S. businesses through the participation of members in promoting their long-term objectives while contributing to the civic and economic development of the Philippines.”

Country Head, President and Chairman at Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Stephen Thomas “Tep” Misa is currently the Country Head, President and Chairman of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Philippines. Prior to AWS he served as FVP for Business Development and Global Partnerships at PLDT/Smart Group, was Managing Director of Cisco, was Sales Director at Microsoft and also worked for Oracle. He has received numerous awards in his career including the Bill Gates Chairman's Award, the highest award in Microsoft worldwide, one of only 12 awardees out of 72,000 employees that year, and the lone Philippine employee to have received the award by far. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science with specialization in Software Technology from De La Salle University with gold medal honors. An avid cyclist, triathlete, a father of 3 and a husband to 1.
