Building the capability and character of an organization is an important focus area of HR given its Organizational Development (OD) role. More than just an active supporter and participant in Sustainability initiatives, HR's role is now more strategic. HR is the lead Driver of Sustainability Culture.


In this regard, the Human Capital and Resources (HCR) & Sustainability Committees of AmCham Philippines invited Nomura Research Institute Singapore to discuss a new paradigm and a different strategic mandate for the Human Resource function involving Sustainability.

    Jonas Marie Dumdum is a Consultant under the Industry Solutions Consulting (ISC) Sector for the Nomura Research Institute Singapore (NRISG) Manila Branch, serving as one of the leads for the NRI Manila Sustainability Service. He continues to work directly with companies in the Philippines on how to improve their sustainability journey through reporting, analysis, and strategy formation.

    Jonas co-hosts the Sustainarumble! Podcast (@sustainarumble on Spotify), the first ever podcast that tackles issues of sustainable development in the Philippines. He serves as a representative of the podcast to the Stakeholders Chamber for the Sustainable Development Goals (SC-SDGs) of the National Economic & Development Authority (NEDA) – the only podcast to be represented in the Chamber.

    Jonas is also a corporate and environmental sustainability practitioner, a Registered Chemist (RCh), and a Climate Reality Leader. He is also a 2022 Island Innovation Ambassador, 2022 European Climate Pact Ambassador for the Philippines, and a member of the Society of Sustainability Practitioners and Sustainable PH.
