AmCham Philippines

AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

This is a commitment of long-standing, as its mission statement declares:

The Chamber exists to serve the interests of U.S. businesses through the participation of members in promoting their long-term objectives while contributing to the civic and economic development of the Philippines.”

Event Details

After several months of closure due to the on and off lockdowns in the country, Boracay has finally reopened to local tourists under Alert Level 2. However, this time around, tourists may have to expect a different travel experience largely due to the strict rules and regulations that have been set in place. The local government officials of Boracay have put together a set of guidelines to follow before and during one's trip to ensure a safe and fun experience.

More than years into the pandemic life, people are eager to return back to normalcy. This includes travelingโ€” especially during the summer and holidays. On a positive note, with the increased vaccination rate and decreasing cases, travel is safer. Experts say that the virus is here to stay and we need to learn how to live with it.

This webinar will explain the need for reviving the tourism industry, more specifically traveling to Boracay. It will also layout the expectations for the new normal travel experience as well as the updated tourist guidelines. Travelling is indeed possible safely!

The Tourism and Hospitality & Environment and Urban Planning Committees of the Chamber will hold a webinar entitled "Exploring Philippine Treasures: Boracay 2022 Updates" on January 12, 2022, Wednesday, 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM with Mr. Felix Delos Santos Jr., Aklan LGU's Chief Tourism Operations Office; Mrs. Lynette Ermac, Megaworld Hotels and Resorts' Group Director of Sales and Marketing, and Mr. Dean Cid, Phinma Microtel Hotel's COO.
