AmCham Philippines

AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

This is a commitment of long-standing, as its mission statement declares:

The Chamber exists to serve the interests of U.S. businesses through the participation of members in promoting their long-term objectives while contributing to the civic and economic development of the Philippines.”

Event Details

As one of the greatest contributors to the Philippine economy, tourism has made its mark by advancing national economic advantages. The industry features the country's beauty and vibrancy as it progresses businesses and assets. The Philippines, with its 7,641 islands, offers diverse leisure options not only for tourists but also for Filipinos as well. Especially known for its hospitable citizens, it is evident that the country has a competitive advantage in the tourism experience it offers to the world. However, the Philippines is not the only state that possesses such leverage. It is also undeniable that the travel and tourism sector has been massively affected by the COVID-19 due to health risks and mobility restrictions. Employees have been laid off, gatherings canceled, and other operations temporarily halted while some have ceased.

The world has recognized and admired us the Filipino resilience. While the COVID-19 pandemic still exists, this does not stop us from moving forward. It also urges us to strive harder. Through collective and collaborative efforts, we continue to adapt to the situation, slowly take the road towards recovery during these trying times, and celebrate progress and small victories.
