AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

This is a commitment of long-standing, as its mission statement declares:

Event Details

AmCham will be hosting its first General Membership Luncheon Meeting on January 15, 2020, 12nn to 2pm. Atty. Jeremiah B. Belgica, REB, EnP, Director General of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) will be our speaker. Atty. Belgica will update the business groups and our members on the developments of ARTA in relation with the current Philippine business landscape, and how their current efforts significantly reduce the business entry barriers in the country.

Atty. Jeremiah B. Belgica or “Atty. My” to his friends currently serves as the first Director General of the Anti-Red Tape Authority or ARTA.

However, before being appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as the ARTA czar last July 3, 2019, DG Belgica served as a founding and managing partner of his own law firm, the Belgica Aranas Baldueza (Alim) Dela Cruz and Associates where he practices private law.

A collegiate graduate of University of Santo Tomas, DG Belgica carried his religious heart on his sleeve, serving as the youngest pastor to be ordained by the Lord's Vineyard Covenant Community Church and performing his duty as resident Pastor for the Manila Congregation for almost ten years.

Some of DG Belgica’s achievements include the following: served as the youngest consultant to the Office of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), founder and chairman of Kabataang Bagong Buhay, an organization which was awarded as one of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organization of the National Capital Region, and founder and chairman of the Youth Moral Force Society of Former Chief Justice Reynato Puno.

Not only in the field of law, DG Belgica also excels in the media industry. With over 10 years of experience as a radio host of several programs and formerly hosted and co-hosted “Bangong Bayan Ko” and “Bagong Buhay” programs of DZRB and DWIZ respectively, DG Belgica continues to charm the public as the ARTA chief, appearing in radio shows and news interviews to spread the good news that is RA 11032. An experienced public speaker, organizer and training developer, DG Belgica has been able to put up his own show called “My Law IQ” where he discusses various laws to the public.

A practicing lawyer, a licensed real estate broker, an Environmental Planner, a Christian Pastor, and now Director General of the Anti-Red Tape Authority, Atty. Jeremiah Belgica aims to use his skills and experience to serve the Filipino people.
