The Intellectual Property Rights and Education Committees of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, along with the University of Makati will be conducting a webinar entitled "Joining the Fight Against Counterfeiting" on October 27, 2022, 10 AM - 12 NN, via Zoom. The discussion will center on the dangers brought by counterfeiting to businesses and consumers.

    Atty. Doble’s over seventeen (17) years of experience in intellectual property law has covered the full spectrum of IP practice. Her focus is on trademark law, IP commercialization and IP litigation. She is a Junior Partner of Villaraza & Angangco (V&A Law) where she maintains the trademark portfolios of several of V&A Law’s largest clients, among which is the domestic and international trademark portfolio of BDO Unibank, the Philippines’ largest universal bank and the Philippine trademark portfolio of Franck Muller, a
    luxury Swiss watchmaker.

    Atty. Doble handles a majority of the V&A Law’s numerous IP litigation cases, putting to use her extensive experience in handling infringement and unfair competition cases before the regular courts, as well as inter partes cases before the Philippine Intellectual Property Office. Some of these cases have even contributed to the building of Philippine jurisprudence on important issues for trademarks specifically for well-known marks and trademark rights violations involving liquified petroleum gas cylinders. She also handles issues regarding IP commercialization and licensing which includes advice on regulatory matters for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, ethical advertising requirements, enforceability of technology transfer and licensing agreements and copyright queries related to music and the visual and performing arts.

    Atty. Doble was a pioneer member of the Unreal Campaign Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA) which seeks to increase anti-counterfeit awareness among the youth. She is also a Trustee and the Corporate Secretary of the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines (IPAP), the leading organization of IP practitioners in the Philippines.

    Atty. Doble is a consistently ranked lawyer in leading publications like Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, World Trademark Review and Asia IP. She was awarded Young Lawyer of the Year in the 2017 Philippine Law Awards of the Asian Legal Business. Atty.     Regina Reyes-Rara is the Managing Partner of MarksPro Philippines, a law firm with focused practice in intellectual property law. She was the Chairperson of the Anti-Counterfeiting Committee: East Asia and Pacific Subcommittee of the International Trademark Association (INTA) from 2010 to 2013 and is the Vice President for Internal Affairs of the Intellectual Property Professors and Researchers Organization of the Philippines (IP-PRO PHIL).

    She has been revising the “Revised Penal Code” by Luis B. Reyes since 1990 and was a Professor of Criminal Law at the De La Salle University College of Law and at the Far Eastern University-De La Salle University Joint JD-MBA Program. She also served as host-legal consultant of a public affairs program on DZMM radio for several years. She has conducted lectures on intellectual property protection in the Philippines and abroad, and for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) for lawyers in the Philippines.
