Event Details
The Arangkada Philippines Project, the advocacy arm of the Joint Foreign Chambers (JFC), is inviting you to a workshop series to identify and advocate for priority legislative measures in preparation for the next Congress. Your participation in these sessions will be instrumental in consolidating a strategic list of bills for advocacy.
The first session will start on February 19, 2025 (Wednesday) and it will focus on policies regarding taxation, trade, and investment. The event will be held at the Robert Sears Hall, AmCham Philippines.
The workshop series aims to:
- Gather key inputs on proposed bills, including those that may require reconsideration or further refinement;
- Provide an opportunity to secure the support of the business community for shared legislative goals; and
- Develop a priority legislative list to advocate for in the 20th Congress.
We invite you to join us these discussions, which will include briefings from participating government agencies on relevant laws passed, remaining legislative priorities, and bills requiring further consideration. Below are the schedules for the other two planning sessions:
- March 27, 2025: Departments and agencies focusing on infrastructure, energy, and environmental sustainability
- April 24, 2025: Departments and agencies focusing on labor, education, and health care
This workshop series will conclude with a final meeting in May, where participants will review and vote on the new consolidated list of JFC-Philippine Business Group (PBG) priority bills. The approved list will serve as the foundation for the JFC-PBG's legislative advocacy efforts and will be formally submitted to the President in advance of the State of the Nation Address (SONA) to help shape the administration's legislative agenda.
*Please note that these dates are tentative and may be adjusted to accommodate participants' availability.
