The AmCham Human Resources (HCR) Committee would like to invite you to participate in a roundtable discussion to entitled: No Hard Bread with Hot Coffee: Strengthening partnerships between Industry and Academe for reskilling and upskilling on January 21, 2021 from 2pm to 4pm. The purpose of the roundtable is to foster dialogue and encourage stakeholders from both the academe and private sector to strengthen collaboration, co-immersion, and partnerships towards reskilling and upskilling the labor force.
The future of work and education systems in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic really brings to the fore the importance of the evolution of our employment and education landscape. As we move towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution, compounded by a global pandemic, it is important to restructure systems in order for nations' population of students and workers will be able to adapt to these changing and volatile time.
In this roundtable, Dr. Emmanuel V. Garcia, RCh, a faculty member of the DLSU Chemistry Department, is the director of the La Salle Food and Water Institute. Dr. Garcia will discuss about his experience in how the academe should, more than ever, be responsive to the needs (and wants) of industries.
The goal of the roundtable is to discuss with "co-immersion" between academe and industry towards reskilling and upskilling and to look for recommendations on how to make the curriculum more market driven as well as linking teachers and industry for the future of work.
This roundtable is in collaboration with Adapt 4ward โ a stakeholder network of advocates who seek to create a policy environment towards an adaptable and future-proof Philippine labor force. Adapt 4ward also seeks to foster and strengthen industry-government-academe linkage through advocacy, consultations, and fruitful dialogue.
