AmCham Philippines

AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

This is a commitment of long-standing, as its mission statement declares:

The Chamber exists to serve the interests of U.S. businesses through the participation of members in promoting their long-term objectives while contributing to the civic and economic development of the Philippines.”

The Tourism and Hospitality (TH) and Trade and Investment (TI) committees of the Chamber is holding a joint committee meeting entitled: Promoting Philippine Tourism: Tourism Investment and Industry Updates on 9 June from 2:00 - 3:30 PM via Zoom.

Focusing on one of the greatest contributors to the Philippine economy, tourism has imprinted its mark of advancing the country beyond economic advantages. The travel and tourism industry features the country's beauty and vibrancy that captivates businesses, assets, and potential investments. The Philippines being an archipelago-- with its 7,641 islands, precipitates a diverse leisure options not only to tourists but to the Filipino people as well. It is evident that the country has a competitive advantage for the tourism experience that it offers to the world, especially that it is known for its hospitable citizens.

One way to further advance the country's tourism is to invest in it. There are numerous tourism investment opportunities in the Philippines such as: hotels, resorts, and other lodging facilities; air, water, and land transport solutions; scenic estates; historico-cultural projects; food and dining facilities; sports and adventure activities; and retail businesses. These advantages position the Philippines in an attractive site for investors.
