Since the start of the Duterte Administration, various developments have been pushed to improve the education system in the country. One of the more prominent changes is the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act or the granting of free tuition fee for State universities and colleges. The K+12 system has also been fully implemented and in a few years' time, we will be having the first batch of graduates from the system.

However despite these initiatives, the education sector still has plenty of room for improvement and growth. This month, the Education Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce will be holding a committee meeting entitled the "Key Reforms in the Education Sector in the Philippines". The meeting would tackle the initiatives, programs, and plans of the Department of Education and Commission on Higher Education for the coming years that could propel the education sector forward. It also aims to bring together the government, private sector and other key stakeholders to converse, forge partnerships, and possibly come up with efforts or solutions that could aid in improving the quality of education in the Philippines.
