AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

Calixto V. Chikiamco is a BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) and Internet entrepreneur, a book author, and a writer on political economy. He’s a co-author of the book, “Momentum: Economic Reforms for Sustaining Growth” published October 2019, and the book, “Momen2m: More Reforms for Economic Growth,” scheduled to be published in December 2021. He is currently President and co-founder of the Foundation for Economic Freedom, an organization advocating economic and political liberty, good governance, and secure and well-defined property rights.

Chikiamco writes a monthly column on political economy in Businessworld in his capacity as a board member of the Institute of Development and Econometric Analysis (IDEA). He finished AB Economics summa cum laude at De La Salle University and Masters in Professional Studies in Media Administration at Syracuse University, New York.

Atty. Erwin Tiamson is a former Director of the Lands at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). After his government service, he served as a land administration consultant in various land administration reform projects in the Philippines including the enactment of the Residential Free Patent Act (RA No. 10023) and Agricultural Free Patent Reform Act (RA No. 11232), Confirmation of Title Improvement Act (RA No. 11573), DENR-LGU Partnership in Public Land Titling, Special Patents on Schools Sites, Rules on Systematic Tilting of Residential Lands under Republic Act No. 730, and the revisions of the DENR Manual on Public Land Disposition.

He also authored studies on policy reforms on land administration and agrarian reform for the Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF), World Bank (WB), United States Aid for International Development (USAID), National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), The Asia Foundation (TAF), among others. Atty. Tiamson also teaches land titles and land registration in Arellano Law School and U.P. Geodetic Engineering Department.

He finished Bachelor of Arts Major in History at the University of the Philippines - Diliman and Bachelors of Law in San Beda College of Law. Atty. Tiamson is a partner in Pulido and Tiamson Law Offices where he provides legal services on land titles, natural resources, and environmental laws.
