Atty. Cuyo has more than 20 years of professional experience in both the government and the private sector, serving in various capacities, ranging from technical, supervisory and as part of top management. He is also an educator, having taken up teaching at a local university in the Philippines where he handles courses in law, business management, and research.
Currently, he is Director IV of the Bureau of Copyright and Other Related Rights of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines. He is the first director of the bureau which was constituted only three years ago, in 2019. His Office handles policy issues on copyright and related rights, accreditation of collective management organizations, and adjudication of cases on copyright, among others.
Previous to this, he was employed as Chief Risk Officer of a government financial institution. He was also previously connected with the umbrella organization of Philippine exporters, working in the area of policy advocacy and business development.
Atty. Cuyo holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and is an active member of the local bar association. He also has a Master of Business Administration degree. His undergraduate studies is in Social Sciences with a double major in Economics and Political Science.
