AmCham Philippines

AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

This is a commitment of long-standing, as its mission statement declares:

The Chamber exists to serve the interests of U.S. businesses through the participation of members in promoting their long-term objectives while contributing to the civic and economic development of the Philippines.”

Summary:

With the great involvement of technology nowadays, the real question chases us: how do we strengthen cybersecurity and intellectual property amid the pandemic? What measures are to be taken to ensure that we are safe and secure from cybercrimes. Most importantly, how to safeguard our data and intellectual property that are confidential? How do we protect it from intruders and cyber attacks? What are the possible indicators of cybercrimes? What preventive measures must be undertaken to promote cybersecurity?

In the past, not everyone believed in the importance of cybersecurity and data protection. However, it all changed when this pandemic struck us, suddenly, we are all about data privacy and cybersecurity. Despite the atrocious experience due to COVID-19, we have all learned our lessons, specifically, with our involvement in the virtual world. We can say that not only today are we performing procedures that would elevate cybersecurity but generating sustainable solutions when times like this arises.
