The AmCham North Luzon Chapter is bringing back its flagship Sustainability Summit event that empowers businesses to embed sustainability objectives at the heart of business strategy. Building a More Sustainable Future in the Philippines will be held on April 20, 2021, from 09:00 to 11:00 am via Zoom. Guest speakers will be Chaye CabalRevilla, Chief Sustainability Officer, PLDT Group, Goeran Soelter, General Manager, Clark Marriott Hotel, and Chito Bauzon, AVP of Corporate Sustainability & CSR Marketing, SM Prime Holdings.

Over the years climate action has helped lunge environmental issues into the forefront of people's awareness and increased public perception. Businesses and consumers are finally realizing the world is in a climate emergency and need to intensify initiatives. The coronavirus pandemic has further reinforced how different the world can be when peoples' behavior changes.

Chaye is the CFO and Chief Sustainability Officer of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation.

Chaye is the Founding Chair of Gabay Guro (one of the country’s biggest education advocacy program since 2007). She was a TOYM awardee in 2013 and the incumbent President of The Outstanding Young Men Foundation.

Chaye is an Appointed Member of the Financial Reporting Standards Council of the Philippines (similar to the Financial Accounting Standards Board in the USA). Prior to MPIC, she held various positions as PLDT Senior Vice President & Controller and the group’s Chief Sustainability Officer, CFO of Smart and in a number of subsidiaries and affiliates of the PLDT Group. She was also a Senior Associate in the Business Audit and Advisory Group of SGV & Co.

She brings with her (20) years of extensive experience in telecommunications, finance, manufacturing, retailing, and nonstock non-profit organizations. Chaye was an outstanding alumni of : De La Salle University; a Triple A awardee by the Federation of the AIM (Asian Institute of Management) Alumni Associations, Inc.; and Stanford Graduate School of Business in California, USA.

With her sterling achievements and advocacies, Chaye continuously receives recognitions and invitations as a speaker by several organizations here and abroad.

Above all these, Chaye is a loving wife to Deputy Speaker Strike Revilla and mother to her precious Rob and Chayeli.

North of Manila and Clark Freeport Zone’s first 5-star General Manager, is a seasoned hotelier with experience spanning three decades.

Soelter’s first hotel stint in his home country, Germany, opened several opportunities for him. Albeit opened several hotel doors quite literally, from taking on Food and Beverage operations positions that spring boarded to a bigger and an expanded role of a General Manager.

He has led the opening of a number of Marriott International properties in some parts of Europe and Asia, with Philippines as his newest assignment. The most current addition under his belt is the opening of Clark Marriott in September 2018. His expert know-how, solid hotel operations background, and his great sense of delivering strong results played an integral role in the success of every property he’s opened and led.

He now heads the charge of over 200 Brilliant Hosts in Clark’s first internationally branded 5-star hotel, Clark Marriott Hotel.

Chito has over 19 years of professional experience in Integrated Marketing Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility, Brand Development, Corporate Communications, and Public Relations. He currently handles SM Cares, SM Supermalls’ CSR division, actively pursuing partnerships and implementing projects that promote social inclusion, care for the environment & community collaboration. Chito has recently been appointed to head SM Supermalls’ Sustainability and Corporate Resiliency Group.

He has gained several years of international experience, working for branding & communications agencies in Bahrain in the Middle East, including Toyota’s campaign for Formula 1 in 2008, and the brand development for Cityscape Global Dubai, the largest international real estate event for emerging global markets.

Chito has delivered several national and international recognitions for SM’s CSR initiatives, including the 2020 Global CSR Awards Best Country Award for Overall CSR Excellence in the Philippines; The Blue Dragon award for Best Campaign in the Philippines at the 2017 Dragons of Asia Marketing & PR Awards in Malaysia; and the 2017 Albert Sussman Award of the ICSC Foundation for the SM Cares Housing Project, given by the International Council of Shopping Centers, USA.

Chito obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Major in Advertising, from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila. In 2021, he completed his Executive course on Applied Sustainability Management in Asia-Pacific by the University of Asia and the Pacific.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Rachel Renucci-Tan is an entrepreneur with over 20 years’ experience in international business, across different sectors.

After having lived abroad for more than half of her life, Rachel returned to the Philippines and founded Chen Yi Agventures (“CYA”) in 2015. CYA is a sustainable and fully-integrated rice processing business whose profits depend on uplifting farmers from poverty, increasing their productivity and providing Filipinos with locally produced, high quality rice. CYA is also committed to helping our country achieve national self-sufficiency in rice.

Rachel founded TAN-EU Capital in 2009 – a real estate funds investment management company based in Hong Kong and investing in China real estate. TAN-EU provides access to global capital across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. TAN-EU successfully raised US$400 million from blue-chip institutional investors at the height of the global financial crisis in 2009. TAN-EU also restructured and managed a troubled US$1 billion China real estate fund from 2012 – 2015.

For over 15 years, Rachel worked in real estate investment banking in London and Paris. She was Managing Director for Europe of the Real Estate Private Group at Macquarie Capital in London, Managing Director and Global Head for Real Estate and Private Equity at Société Générale Asset Management in London and Paris, Director at HSBC Real Estate Investment Specialists in London and Associate Director at DTZ Corporate Finance in London.

In 1993, in her twenties, Rachel founded Maxi-Media International which developed into one of the largest entertainment companies in the Philippines. She exited that investment in 1999 as the Asian financial crisis gripped the country, using the proceeds to fund her education at INSEAD.

Rachel was educated in the Philippines, the United States and France and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Hampshire College and an MBA from INSEAD. Rachel is fluent in English, Pilipino, French, Mandarin and Fookien.
