Event Details

The fourth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-4) convened last April 2024 in Ottawa, Canada. The primary objective of this session was to develop an international legally binding instrument addressing the critical issue of plastic pollution, with a specific focus on its impact in the marine environment.


During the event, representatives from various countries, including the Philippines, actively participated in negotiations and discussions. Notably, Mr. Albert Magalang, representing the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) - Climate Change Service, played a pivotal role in these deliberations.
