    Tanya Rabat-Tan

Regional Director of Department of Tourism Region XI

I am currently serving as the Regional Director of the Department of
Tourism Davao. Previously, I have worked with the City Government of
Mati as the Chief of Staff of the City Mayor. Concurrent with the position
as Chief of staff, I also worked as the Local Economic and Promotions
Officer while co-managing as the City Tourism Officer.
One advocacy that I championed during the said term of office at the local
government unit is on sustainability. I am an advocate for environment
protection and active in campaigns addressing the issue, with projects like
the Solid Waste Integrated Management Program or SWIM, which aims to
encourage everyone to be part of the solution of the ever growing
problem of improper waste management. In addition, I am a board
member of the Red Cross of the Philippines-Davao Oriental Chapter.
As the present Regional Director of the Department of Tourism, my
primary functions include providing assistance and support to Davao
Region’s tourism industry to promote Davao as one of the premiere
    destinations of the Philippines.
