AmCham came to life in 1902 as the Manila Coffee Round Table and later as Manila Merchants Association. Incorporated in 1920, it has since then recognized and reconfirmed the commitment of American business to the development and welfare of the Philippines and the Filipino people.

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) is an attached agency of the Department of Finance. It is paramount in assessing and collecting customs revenues, curbing illicit trade and customs fraud, and facilitating trade through an efficient and effective customs management system.
Given the critical role BOC plays in trade, a continuous provision of updates and close coordination between the public and private sector on their plans and priorities is imperative.
