As AmCham always believed in the potential of the Philippines as a Travel and Tourism destination, the Chamber is committed to continuously support effective policies and government strategies to encouraging more investments in the country's tourism industry.
In the hopes of attracting more investments in the Philippine tourism sector, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) made significant efforts to identify and promote areas in different regions of the Philippines as a Tourism Enterprise Zones (TEZ). TEZs are zones that are not less than 5 hectares with "defined boundaries, master-planned for development into an integrated tourism complex with prescribed carrying capacities to host tourism, enterprise facilities within".
In line with the Chamber's Tourism and Hospitality Committee Theme for the year: "Enhancing Philippine Travel and Tourism Competitiveness through Public and Private Sector Cooperation", the committee is organizing a luncheon on the topic "Turning Challenges to Opportunities in the Philippine Tourism Enterprise Zones" on April 25, Thursday at the AmCham Hall, Makati City.
The committee luncheon will provide a platform for government, industry leaders, business groups and other stakeholders, to discuss challenges (such as the TRAIN 2 impact) and opportunities in the Tourism Enterprise Zones determined by TIEZA, as well as share solutions and best practices that will lead to effective policies, strategies and programs. The event also aims to build partnerships among key stakeholders in developing and implementing long-term solutions.
