Geoffrey Tan is a Managing Director at U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). As DFC’s representative based in Singapore, he is responsible for business development in Malaysia, Mongolia, the Pacific and the Philippines as well as overall coordination across DFC’s Bangkok, Jakarta and Mumbai offices. Mr. Tan has worked in emerging markets investment financing for over 20 years.

Since joining Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) – now DFC -in 2003, he has worked primarily on power, renewable energy and infrastructure projects, but has also diversified into financial institutions transactions. These have been across Latin America, the Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia. Prior to OPIC Mr. Tan worked for the Chase Manhattan Bank (now JPMorgan Chase) in New York, Singapore and Hong Kong focusing on project and structured finance, and for Emerging Markets Partnership in Singapore focusing on private equity infrastructure investments.

Mr. Tan is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Virginia and attended Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium.

Brandon Megorden is the Regional Manager for Asia at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), a U.S. government agency that helps U.S. businesses create jobs through the export of their goods and services for priority infrastructure projects in emerging economies. Based in Bangkok, Thailand, Brandon is responsible for directing business development efforts and coordinating with public and private sector stakeholders to implement USTDA projects and programs in the Asia-Pacific region.

Brandon formerly served as a country manager with USTDA’s Sub-Sharan Africa region where he led development and management of USTDA activities in East and Central Africa. He began his career at USTDA as an analyst with the agency’s China and Mongolia portfolio. Brandon remains an active member of USTDA’s Renewable Energy and ICT Sector Teams.

Prior to joining USTDA, Brandon worked as a trade specialist at the U.S. Commercial Service Export Assistance Center in Boise, Idaho where he coordinated export outreach and education programs for U.S. companies. Brandon also served as a senior editor for the Beijing Olympic Committee during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

Brandon completed graduate study in Chinese and American Affairs at John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, a certificate degree in Mandarin Chinese from Tsinghua University, and Bachelor of Arts in International Political Economy from the College of Idaho.

An advisor to senior U.S. Government officials to execute high-level trade advocacy in the Philippines and ASEAN. Interfaces with cabinet-level officials, private sector leaders, USG headquarters to resolve bilateral and multilateral trade issues, ensuring a level playing field for U.S. exports.

Also assist U.S. firms to expand export operations and develop market entry strategies in areas of information and communications technology (smart cities, telecom, cybersecurity, and software and digital services), travel, and education. Serves also as Regional Team Leader for U.S. travel promotions in ASEAN. On foreign investment, guides Philippine firms on investing in the United States via the USG’s SelectUSA.

John has an MBA from the De La Salle University. John also has a Project Finance certificate from the International Faculty of Finance in partnership with Middlesex University London and a graduate-level certificate from Cornell University SC Johnson College of Business.
