Several medical breakthroughs happened in response to COVID-19 since the virulent virus' first reported case in 2019. Individuals are now able to rely on vaccines, and booster shots in some countries, to shield themselves from the virus while trying to live the lives they had prior to the global pandemic. However, it remains to be a serious problem once an individual contracts and suffers from COVID. Although no drug has been created to totally prevent or cure COVID-19, we are beginning to see the light with another medical breakthrough -- an easy-to-take pill, Molnupiravir, shown to reduce the risk of hospitalization and death for adults with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 infections, as well as other treatments options. This does not only potentially saves lives but also ensures a proper and safe post-COVID recovery for the patients.
AmCham's Pharmaceutical Committee invites you to a discussion entitled "Where are we on COVID-19 treatment options?" on November 23, 2021, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. The discussion aims to give a broad overview of COVID-19 treatment options (outpatient and inpatient) and their developments as well as shed light on incoming medications and antiviral treatments for COVID-19.
