There is no denying that food is part of our cultural identity and at the most basic level, essential to our survival. Over the past hundred years, unprecedented developments in the agriculture sector and the global food industry have taken place resulting in greater access to a wide array of food. However, it is becoming increasingly apparent that the ways we grow and process food are undermining our health, and not fit to meet the needs of a growing global population.
With the convection of several case studies around the country, WeSolve and the Food and Agriculture Organization have come up with possible solutions in order for the greater Manila area to transition to a better circular food system. These would include optimizing harvest, refining inventory management, reshaping consumer habits, enhancing food distribution, strengthening food rescue, and the like.
In this note, the Agribusiness Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, the Food and Beverage Committee of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, and the Philippine Chamber of Food Manufacturers Inc. will be hosting a webinar entitled Working Where it Matters: The Hunger Project Updates with WeSolve and FAO on November 19, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM with Mr. Rapa Lopa, Founder of WeSolve Inc. and Ms. Kati Tanninen, Representative of the FAO.
