Ariel Cayanan
Undersecretary at Department of AgricultureUsec. Cayanan is the current head for Operations and National Project Director of the DA-Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) since August 2016. He is also the Executive Director for the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fishery. He also served as the Executive Director for the National Agricultural and Fishery Council from 2012 to 2015. He was also a consultant to former DA Secretary Hon. Bernie Fondevilla, Director Ronaldo Salunga as the former Information Technology Center for Aquatic and Fisheries, and to Digi Lighting Inc. (DLI). He was a Professor VI at Mapua Institute of Technology-Industrial Engineering.
He earned his doctorate on Business Administration in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) from 200-2003. He has his Master’s Degree major in Computer Engineering at Mapua Institute of Technology in 1998. He also earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at Mapua from 1989-1994.
He has various recognitions and leadership experiences such as, 1) Best Practice in Teaching; 2) Head of Delegation for the 39th Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry and 17th Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Plus Three held in Thailand; 3) Head of Delegation during the 1st Asia International Water Week in Korea last 2017; 4) Head of Delegation in Japan for the Training on Farmers Improvement Vegetable Packing and Shipment Technology; 5) Head of Delegation during the Senior Officers Meeting- ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry in Singapore; and 6) In New York, USA during the meeting on Marine Biodiversity.
